1) A free proxy is more than likely going to get your computer hacked and used for criminal purposes in your name or the proxy owner will key log everything you do and sell it to people willing to buy your personal information. 2) The only safe approach is a commercial personal VPN service. The VPN will completely encrypt your entire connection and nothing leaks out.
