I am connected to the internet via an Airport (wifi). Our school's proxy blocking system shows up at Safari -%26gt; Preferences -%26gt; Advances -%26gt; Proxies: Change Settings -%26gt; proxy.milwaukee.k12.wi.us Port: 8888
If I uncheck a proxy (to not use it) I cannot browse the internet, I am not connected. Also, when I open the Airport Utility i cannot see our school's airport. I have searched the internet for a solution but haven't been succesful. They actually setup the school the right way!!!!! Finally more schools are locking down on morons who dont do school work, and who are trying to promote the dumbing of America...
If they set it up correctly, you have absolutely no way out except for the Proxy they specified! They should have alllllllll ports blocked except for the Proxy out, and any email communications ports...
Get back to work and stop trying to get past your school's security... i mean seriously... why the heck would they put this in? Do you think they WANT you to go look at porn or facebook, or whatever the heck you want to look at that cant wait till you get home? NO... they dont... so hopefully they configured their network how I setup schools, so those little punks cant get out... I love locking down the schools, it is sooooo laughable because most have all ports open, and they use a content filter, but all they need to do is FORCE you to use their proxy, and you cannot get around it...
