My friend is havin trouble with his computer, he has a compaq presario c700 with Windows Vista. he says he cant get online because his Proxy server had been changed and he said he hadn't changed it because he had no idea what proxy server is...and well..im usually good with computers but im stuck this time...can anyone help me?Does anyone know how to fix a Proxy server for a compaq presario c700?If it's Internet Explorer, it's in Internet Options / connections.
In general use, there should be NO PROXY (turn it all off). Only in very high security setups should there be a proxy, and that's up to the sysadmin.

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.Does anyone know how to fix a Proxy server for a compaq presario c700?start internet explorer, click the tools tab on the top of the browser, then go to the bottom of the menu and click the internet options tab. then connections tab, the lan settings tab, check the box for the auto detect setting and uncheck everything else.
