I understand what you're going through. Im in the UAE and used Myspace everyday. Its blocked... though hi5 is not blocked here.
Changing the proxy settings used to work a few years ago, around 2000, 2001. Now all the gulf countries use the UAE Etisalat internet services (even if you pay a different company, its owned or co owned my UAE Etisalat) and they have set it up in such a way that changing the proxy settings not only doesnt help, it cuts off your connection.
You wont be able to get any site. non at all till you reset the settings back.
You can try using google's translation services, it will allow you to view hi5, but not log in.
Im sorry, but trust me, my friends and I have been trying for years. There is no way around it. not a legal way anyway.
This illegal way I mentioned was done here twice by some computer tech. students. They are all in prison now, it was a huge thing in the papers here.
Deal with it till you're back where you're from. Thats all you can do.

they allow you to access websites like facebook.com and myspace and they actually work. Also its unlikely for these proxy websites to be blocked by your work or school because they do not contain any %26quot;proxy type of language%26quot;.
