There's a proxy set at school. the area for input is greyed out. how do i change this so i can put my own in?

My teacher has a proxy set. When i go to tool%26gt;internet options%26gt;connections%26gt;lan settings, i cant change the proxy or port because they are greyed out. how do i change this? also, how would i go about changing it so that the command prompt is not disabled? I need to be able to acess the internet, but because of all of this, my class cant. Can anyone help? There's a proxy set at school. the area for input is greyed out. how do i change this so i can put my own in?Those settings are greyed out (and the command prompt is disabled) because you don't have Administrator priviliges on that computer. Most likely this is intentional on the part of the school administration to keep students from fooling around on the Net during school time.

If you have a legitimate need to get onto the Net at school, talk to your teacher about it. If it's not school-related, go back home and surf.
