how can i install a proxy on safari on a mac? I will need the proxy to be able to change frequently so that my location remains anonymous. Essentially i will need my IP address hidden, but i would also like the option to turn the proxy off, so essentially its an add-on i need. My husband and I were married by a double Proxy because he was stationed in Germany while I was back home. Because of the Proxy I was able to come live with him in Germany. So now we are married but the Proxy didn't legally change my name. Because I am out of country and I am not able to come home whenever I want to it seems impossible. How come yahoo messenger doesn't let me sign on?

I have my sn and password saved on the computer, and i sign on to yahoo messenger after i sign in online everyday. Today, however i couldn't sign on, regardless of what i did. In general use, there should be NO PROXY (turn it all off). Only in very high security setups should there be a proxy, and that's up to the sysadmin.

Ok, so I am having a problem with my IE. I have the icon on my desktop. If I click it IE will open but not all the way to where I can use it for anything. Then I can't close it. I have to hit ALT CTRL Delete and close it in Task Manager. If I click start on the menu and click IE there it will open and work. If I click the icon on the desktop like I said it will open partially. If I minimize the window and try to open it again in another window the 2nd time around it will open up 100% and work fine. It would appear that either their web server is having problems, they are making alterations to their web site or the domain name servers are inactive. The latter seems the most likely as it works for your friends.

Newest msn won't work?

I downloaded the newer msn a while ago, had problems with it, and installed the older version again. Now I've reinstalled the newer one, and i'm having the same problem again. When I try to connect I get the error code '80072efd', when I run the trouble shooter it says there's something wrong with the key ports. I've uninstalled norton 360 as best I can, as it was interfering with my internet. Is it possible part of the firewall, or a completely different firewall is blocking it? I've tried changing my proxy settings, obviously tried reinstalling, went into the advanced connection settings in msn itself, when I click on TCP I get the error code (8007274d), Also, in connection settings, there's a warning symbol between the globe and the router symbol saying I couldn't connect to the .NET messenger service.How do I fix this? ):

I did a lot of searching and tried all the troubleshooting tips that I could find, with my firewall configured to allow msnmsgr.exe, but nothing seemed to work.



The firewall, (I use ZoneAlarms) keeps a log of all the things that it blocks, and was blocking wlcomm.exe.



I had only read that msnmsgr.exe needed to be enabled, and had already done so, but finally happened to read the log file... should have looked at it to start with.



After adding wlcomm.exe to the allowed programs, WLM is now working okay for me.Newest msn won't work?It's strange, almost everyone i've seen installing the new msn can't connect. They've done something very stupid..



Just uninstall Windows live Messenger and install MSN 8.1, it's fairly new and guaranteed to work atleast..

i've been trying to update microsoft security essentials for about a week now, and every time i do i get error code 0x80072efd. it says that it can't find an internet connection, but i'm always on the internet when i try to update it. i've tried it w/ both wireless internet and an ethernet cord, but i get the same result. i've tried to uninstall it and then reinstall it, changing the proxy settings and default internet browser, but to no avail.



i can't update any of my software or download anything new, it's quite maddening lol. i've never had this problem before, so can anybody tell me what's going on and how to fix it?It says i'm not connected to the net when i am and it won't let me update?I hope I'm wrong, but it sounds like there might be a rootkit of some sort on your computer. They are kind of like viruses, but are usually undetectable by antivirus programs and can even disable your antivirus or firewall.



The best place to start in my experience is the BleepingComputer forums. They have a section called %26quot;Am I Infected?%26quot; where people will guide you through steps to figure out if you have some sort of rootkit. I've solved tons of problems thanks to that site.

How can I disable IE without disabling Safari or Windows Messenger?

I have been having problems with random IE windows opening while I'm using certain programs. I found a way to disable IE from connecting with the internet by simply changing my proxy settings to a dead-end proxy. The problem with this is when I do this it also prevents me from using Windows Live Messenger and Safari to connect to the internet. All other things such as games and updates still connect though. I just need to know how to ONLY disable IE. If you click on the Microsoft Windows bulls-eye first and instate the MS defaults; then the custom bulls-eye you can change the defaults for your Internet Appliance and Messenger; causing Safari to have complete access to all Internet calls and Windows Live Messenger to become your default Messenger. While your at it you can choose your default music handler and what files it will handle!

Help! AV Security Suite malicious/rogue virus....?

I have the AV Security Suite malicious/rogue virus.



I used Malwarebyte to remove it and also used Semantic to remove it as well. Malwarebyte finds it on my computer in various places and in my registry key, quarantines it and then I delete it.



Semantic found it buried in my Java program.



The first time I discovered it the Malwarebyte seemed to have removed it. Recently I was on a secure site that required Java to run, as soon as Java launched the AV Security Suite launched itself again and now it is even worse. Malwarebyte finds it and removes it (in Safe Mode as recommended) but after restart it is still there.



This is a very bad virus, it changes your proxy setting from auto find to a bogus proxy that only lets you go to the AV Security website. This is becoming very frustrating and I need help removing the nasty virus.

1. Log out and reboot your machine.



2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.



3. Select Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu.

It may come down to the point to where you have to completely delete java. Turn off system restore to. Dump all your restore points. They are infected. If you have to delete Java you can reinstall it here,
